Make sure the CAD operator knows the contact details of the venue event manager you are dealing with for your event.
Gangway sizes (rule of thumb for most venues) – Public shows perimeter 3.0m, internal 2.5m. Trade shows 2.5m perimeter, internal 2.0m – the later would need to be increased if a high number of attendees were expected, confirm these details with the venue prior to drawing up a plan.
Try to keep the stands in blocks of six stands or more, this will help with the electric mains costs from the venue.
Another good rule of thumb is how to find out the yield of the gross area.
This can be done by taking off a third of the gross area, for gangways etc to get to the net area i.e 3000sqm gross gives you about 2000sqm of net area.
